UCAS academic references

As part of your UCAS application, you will need to submit one academic reference.

An academic reference provides an informed and academic assessment of the applicant for further study.

The reference could be from your school teacher, employer, or academic advisor, someone who knows you well academically. They should include an assessment of your suitability for the courses, their experience of your abilities, qualities and attitude.

If you do not have anyone to provide a reference, apply for an course now and start building relationships with potential supervisors and advisors.

For those applying from overseas, your academic reference must be in English and should include predicted grades or scores of any qualifications that you are applying for.
