What to include (or not to include) in your personal statement

Your personal statement is one of the most important aspects of your Oxbridge application which is aimed at explaining your academic capabilities and your passion about the subject course.

Most Oxbridge students would have a big list of super curricular activities, medals and awards to put down but which ones should you include?

Hone in only on the few activities which would help make clear your passion and capability for the subject to convince the admissions tutors that you are the right candidate to take on, and make sure you say what skills you have demonstrated.

Avoid explaining subject theories at length - you ought to be writing the personal statement with the assumption that the person reading it is a subject expert.

Best also to avoid unnecessary cliche or fancy language as they often do not provide effective support to your application.
