Last-hour Preparation for Oxbridge Interviews

Updated: 3 days ago

Second year in a row COVID has taken away the chances of an in-person interview on university campuses, and applicants have had to adapt to the limitations of a virtual interview.

Many of you would have heard from Oxford or Cambridge by now. Interview patterns have changed and the lack of personal interaction would mean it is harder to give an accurate impression of yourself.

Keep reading around the subject for latest developments and don’t forget to review your personal statement for any potential questions that may come up in the interviews.

Practise speaking out loud your thoughts will help the interviewer follow your thinking and logic. Don’t be afraid to state the obvious.

You must also be prepared in case of any technical glitches (e.g. poor wi-fi) by doing test runs and having back-up options in place to demonstrate preparedness in front of interviewers.

Your effort in setting up a interview-friendly environment will not go unnoticed - a neat backdrop, quiet background and a well-lit room would only be a minimum.

Lastly, have your notepad and pen ready, your personal statement and application form. Best of luck to everyone!
